Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Health and Safety Officer to join their construction operations in Bristol . You will be instrumental in promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture across all project sites, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies. Your primary focus will be to identify potential hazards, implement preventative measures, and conduct regular inspections to safeguard the well-being of all personnel. This is a vital role in ensuring operational integrity and fostering a safe working environment on demanding construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
• Maintain health and safety records and documentation.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and reporting skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and risk assessments.
• Proactive approach to promoting a positive safety culture.
