About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and qualified Health and Safety Officer to join their expanding construction division in Manchester . This role is essential for ensuring that all construction sites operate in compliance with the latest health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a commitment to fostering a strong safety culture on-site, with a hybrid work model allowing for both site visits and office-based responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety management system.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventative measures.
• Deliver health and safety training to site personnel and management.
• Advise on health and safety matters, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the HSE, as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction sector.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct effective risk assessments and implement control measures.
• Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH) is advantageous.
