About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to ensure the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance for their operations in and around Belfast . This vital role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures to protect employees, the public, and the environment. You will conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, while promoting a proactive safety culture across the organization. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will spend time on site and in the office, ensuring that all operational activities within the Oil & Gas sector adhere to rigorous safety and environmental standards, contributing significantly to the company's commitment to responsible operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
- Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Prepare HSE reports for management, highlighting performance, risks, and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HSE Officer or similar role, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
- In-depth knowledge of UK HSE legislation and environmental regulations.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing behavior at all levels.
