Healthcare Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Healthcare Architect to lead the design and planning of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities across Scotland, based out of their Edinburgh office. This role demands a deep understanding of the unique functional, technical, and regulatory requirements of hospitals, clinics, and medical research centers. You will collaborate with healthcare providers, engineers, and user groups to create environments that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and staff well-being, ensuring designs are both innovative and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for new healthcare buildings and refurbishments.
• Develop detailed design solutions that meet stringent healthcare standards and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to understand and integrate user needs into design proposals.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant healthcare regulations, HTM, and HBN guidelines.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including MEP engineers and specialist consultants.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation for planning, tendering, and construction phases.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Architect with a significant portfolio in healthcare design.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare facility planning, medical equipment, and infection control principles.
• Proficiency in Revit and other relevant architectural software.
• Familiarity with Scottish healthcare building standards and regulations.
• Strong project management and client liaison skills.
• RIBA Part III qualification or equivalent.
