HGV Class 1 Driver - Regional Shunting

About the Role

Our client is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to perform regional shunting duties from their depot in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on moving trailers between yards, loading docks, and designated areas within logistics hubs. While it involves less long-distance travel, it requires precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of vehicle handling in busy operational environments. You will be an integral part of the logistics flow, ensuring smooth transitions of goods and contributing to the overall efficiency of operations in Staffordshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for shunting operations within and around logistics sites.
• Manoeuvre trailers safely and efficiently into loading bays and designated parking areas.
• Perform pre-shift checks on the vehicle and report any defects.
• Maintain accurate records of movements and yard activity.
• Collaborate effectively with warehouse and dispatch teams in Stoke-on-Trent .

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence .
• Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Demonstrable experience in HGV driving, preferably with shunting experience.
• Excellent vehicle control and manoeuvring skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
