HGV Driver - Class 1

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced HGV Driver (Class 1) to join their team in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, adhering to strict schedules and delivery requirements. This role demands a high level of professionalism, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to maintaining vehicle safety standards. As a Class 1 driver, you will handle long-haul and regional deliveries, playing a vital part in the company's supply chain and ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles safely and compliantly with all legal requirements.
• Transport goods to specified destinations, adhering strictly to delivery schedules and route plans.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, and any incidents or delays encountered.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points, representing the company professionally.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card.
• Proven experience as a Class 1 HGV driver, with a clean driving record.
• Good geographical knowledge of Scotland and the wider UK.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
