HGV Driver – Class 1 or Class 2

Location: Southwark, London Hours: 36 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 6am–2pm Job Type: Temporary Contract

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Driver (Class 1 or Class 2) to join a commercial waste collection team based in Southwark.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving HGV vehicles, collecting and transporting commercial waste, and ensuring all duties are carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Drive HGV Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles to support commercial waste collection and transportation.

Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and ensure vehicles are roadworthy.

*

Complete driver logbooks accurately and report any vehicle defects or safety concerns.

*

Assist with loading, unloading and transporting commercial waste and recyclable materials.

*

Ensure vehicles are kept clean, secure and maintained to a high standard.

*

Follow all health and safety procedures while completing assigned routes and duties.

Essential Requirements

*

Full, clean HGV Class 1 or Class 2 driving licence.

*

Minimum 2 years' experience working as a driver within waste management, cleaning, grounds maintenance or a similar environment.

*

Good understanding of vehicle safety checks and driver logbook procedures.

*

Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently.

*

Reliable, punctual and able to work early morning shifts.

Working Hours

*

Monday to Friday

*

6am–2pm

*

36 hours per week

*

Occasional additional hours may be required.
