Hgv Fitter

My client is a privately owned family business based in the heart of the Fens. As a manufacturer of commercial vehicles, the specialise in unique adaptations and retro fits, meaning no one day is the same as the next. Due to continued and sustained growth, they are looking to hire an experienced HGV Fitter to join their team.

As HGV Fitter, your role will be to fit a variety of added value engineered parts associated with commercial vehicles and HGVs and a wide range of systems associated with further enhancements. Working from drawings provided by the design team and/or client specifications, you will ensure vehicles leave the building fully commissioned, finished to a high quality, and in line with customer expectations.

Ideally, you will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role and be qualified to at least NVQ or Apprenticeship level in an engineering discipline. You will have a broad background in a variety of fitting techniques and be able to work unsupervised on a wide range of problems. Using your knowledge, you will fit a variety of fabricated parts, hydraulics, and HGV components.

Knowledge of Commercial Vehicles is preferred, but a strong background in HGV, Agricultural or Automotive engineering is essential. What is key is your understanding that my client is looking not just for experience, but also the drive to learn new skills, contribute to a growing businesses success, and to embrace the challenges of a niche engineering market.

In return, my client offers a very good hourly rate, overtime rate and 33 days holiday (including bank).
