Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Autism School 📍 Wokingham, Berkshire 📅 Start Date: September 2026 💼 Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity 💰 Competitive Salary/Day Rate (Dependent on Experience) Higher Level Teaching Assistant Required We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist Autism school in Wokingham from September. This rewarding long-term opportunity is ideal for a dedicated education professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and helping them achieve both academically and personally. About the Role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with Autism across the school. Working closely with teachers and the wider SEND team, you will help deliver high-quality learning experiences and provide targeted interventions that enable pupils to thrive. Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering planned learning activities and interventions Leading small group and whole-class sessions when required Supporting pupils with Autism and associated communication or sensory needs Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing Assisting with the planning and preparation of learning resources Monitoring and recording pupil progress Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external professionals Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate We are looking for candidates who:
