About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Horticultural Supervisor to lead their team responsible for the maintenance and development of extensive ornamental gardens and grounds near Reading . This role requires a blend of horticultural expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for creating beautiful, thriving green spaces. You will be responsible for planning and executing horticultural activities, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of garden presentation and plant health. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the horticultural team, including gardeners and groundskeepers.
• Plan and implement planting schemes, garden maintenance programs, and seasonal horticultural tasks.
• Ensure the health, vitality, and aesthetic appeal of all plants, lawns, and trees within the managed areas.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of horticultural equipment and irrigation systems.
• Provide guidance and training to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Manage resources effectively, including budget, materials, and staff time.

Requirements

• A qualification in Horticulture, Arboriculture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within horticulture.
• Comprehensive knowledge of plant species, cultivation techniques, pest and disease management.
• Experience with garden design principles and landscape maintenance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
