Overview

The Security Officerplays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests,colleagues, and property. As a highly visible presence across the hotel, therole is responsible for monitoring, preventing, and responding to safety andsecurity risks with professionalism, discretion, and efficiency.

This position requiresclose coordination with hotel management and external emergency services toensure that all guests and employees enjoy a secure, welcoming environment inline with Montcalm Collection’s commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure the safety and security of hotel guests,staff, and property.
• Operate surveillance systems, monitor cameras, andinvestigate suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols across all areas ofthe hotel.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including fire alarms,medical incidents, or security breaches.
• Control access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorisedindividuals are permitted.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions taken, anddaily activity reports.
• Participate in emergency drills and follow established hotelemergency procedures.
• Provide support to guests and staff during incidents withprofessionalism and care.
• Liaise with management, local law enforcement, and emergencyservices when required.
• Promote a culture of safety and vigilance within the hotelteam.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security role, ideally withinhospitality or customer-facing environments.
• Knowledge of security procedures, surveillance systems, andemergency response.
• Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence (as requiredby UK law).
• First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
• Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Calm, professional manner under pressure with excellentproblem-solving ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit: able to stand, walk, and patrol for extendedperiods, and lift to 20kg as required in emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions

• Shift-based role, requiring flexibility to workdays, nights,weekends, and bank holidays.
• Active, guest-facing role requiring professional appearance(uniform provided).
• Involves standing, walking, and patrolling for extendedperiods, with occasional physical demands during incidents.

Candidates must be authorised to live and work in the UK.Currently, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
