HR Advisor - Employee Relations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled HR Advisor with a strong focus on Employee Relations to join their team in Oxford . In this crucial role, you will provide expert guidance on all employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures, and fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture. You will work closely with HR colleagues and management to navigate complex employee situations, minimise risk, and promote constructive dialogue. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who excels at problem-solving and has a deep understanding of UK employment law, playing a vital role in maintaining harmonious employee relationships and supporting the overall operational efficiency of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and support on a full range of employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability procedures.
• Conduct investigations into employee complaints and disputes in a fair, thorough, and timely manner.
• Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK employment legislation.
• Support managers in managing employee performance and absence effectively.
• Contribute to HR projects aimed at improving employee engagement and fostering a positive work environment.
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all employee relations activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR Advisor with a significant focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practices.
• Strong investigation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex caseload with discretion.
• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification/experience.
