Growing HR Consultancy
Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking for a varied, hands-on role where you can make a genuine difference to businesses and their people?
We’re working with a growing HR consultancy that supports SMEs and micro-businesses of up to 100 employees, providing practical, commercially focused HR advice to help business owners navigate their people challenges confidently and effectively.
As the consultancy continues to grow, they’re looking for an HR Advisor to join their small, supportive team, delivering high-quality HR support to a varied portfolio of clients across Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and providing pragmatic HR advice in a role that offers variety, autonomy and professional development.
The role
You’ll work closely with business owners and managers, providing day-to-day HR advice and support across a broad range of employee matters, including:
*
Employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance processes
*
Performance management and capability
*
Absence management and return-to-work processes
*
Recruitment, selection and onboarding
*
Employment policies, procedures and HR documentation
*
Employee engagement, development and retention
*
Employment law compliance and best practice
*
Supporting managers with challenging conversations and people-related decisions
*
Advising on contractual changes and other employment matters
*
Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring processes are followed consistently
You’ll provide support remotely and through occasional client site visits, helping businesses manage their people effectively while ensuring advice is practical, proportionate and legally appropriate.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an approachable, organised and commercially aware HR professional who enjoys working with a variety of businesses and helping managers find sensible solutions to their people challenges.
You’ll ideally have:
*
Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role
*
Broad HR experience across the employee lifecycle
*
Confidence supporting employee relations matters, including disciplinaries and grievances
*
A sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
*
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*
A practical, solutions-focused approach to advising managers and business owners
*
The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
*
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
Experience working with SMEs or within an HR consultancy would be advantageous, although experience in a generalist HR environment will also be considered.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, growing HR consultancy where you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of clients, industries and people-related challenges.
You’ll benefit from a varied workload, the opportunity to build strong client relationships and the chance to develop your HR expertise within a supportive, close-knit team.
Rather than working in a large, traditional HR department, you’ll have the opportunity to provide practical advice, see the impact of your work and develop your career in a commercially focused environment.
The package
*
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
*
Working pattern: Hybrid
*
Location: Chatham, Kent
*
Travel: Client visits across Kent as required
*
Environment: Small, supportive and growing HR consultancy
