Employee Relations (ER) Partner

📍 Colchester, Essex (Hybrid Working) 💰 Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations Partner to join a dynamic and people-focused organisation based in Colchester. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with managers and employees, providing expert ER guidance while helping to shape a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

This position is ideal for an HR professional with strong Employee Relations experience who enjoys building relationships, managing complex casework, and driving best practice across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Employee Relations.

• Manage a varied caseload including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence management and flexible working requests.

• Support and coach managers to ensure effective and compliant people management.

• Lead and support investigations, hearings and appeals.

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.

• Identify trends and provide insights to support people-related decision making.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

• Support organisational change projects, restructures and consultations where required.

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

• Promote employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.

About You

• Previous experience within an Employee Relations Partner, HR Advisor or HR Business Partner role.

• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

• Proven experience managing complex ER cases from start to finish.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Ability to influence, coach and challenge managers confidently.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• CIPD qualification desirable but not essential.

• A proactive, solution-focused approach to HR.
