HR Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and organised HR Officer to join their team in Sunderland . This role is integral to supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring the smooth running of various HR processes and providing essential support to employees and management. You will play a key role in employee relations, recruitment, and HR administration, contributing to a positive and productive work environment within the Tyne and Wear region. The successful candidate will embrace a hybrid working model, blending essential office-based duties with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including candidate screening and HR system updates.
• Provide first-level HR advice and support to employees and line managers on policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity within the HR Information System (HRIS).
• Support the management of employee relations cases, including investigations and disciplinary meetings.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Assist with the administration of payroll, benefits, and leave management.

Requirements

• Experience in an HR Officer or similar HR support role.
• Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and HR software.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development in Human Resources.
