HSE Officer - Offshore Operations Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to support their offshore operations from their Portsmouth office. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations across their operational activities. You will conduct site visits, audits, and inspections, as well as develop and implement HSE policies and procedures. Working in a dynamic environment, you will collaborate with operations, engineering, and site personnel to foster a strong safety culture and minimize risks. This hybrid position allows for effective management of HSE responsibilities through a combination of office-based work and site presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs across all operational sites.
• Conduct regular HSE audits , inspections, and risk assessments of facilities and activities.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Maintain HSE records and prepare regular reports for management review.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an HSE role within the oil and gas industry or a related heavy industry.
• Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
• Ability to conduct site visits and work effectively with diverse teams.
