HSE Officer - Offshore Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to support their offshore operations, based out of our Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK facility. This role is paramount to ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all company activities at sea. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture among offshore personnel. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for a qualified professional committed to protecting people and the environment in the demanding offshore sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures for offshore activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections , risk assessments, and incident investigations offshore and onshore.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to offshore and onshore personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and effective communication within the Sunderland operational area.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 4/5 in relevant discipline).
• Proven experience as an HSE Officer , preferably within the oil and gas or maritime industry.
• In-depth knowledge of offshore safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong incident investigation and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and auditing skills.
