About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialist HVAC Mechanical Engineer to contribute to their building services and facilities management team in Edinburgh . This role focuses on the design, installation, and maintenance of efficient and effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for a variety of commercial and industrial properties. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with building regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and HVAC system design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify HVAC systems for new builds and refurbishments, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Conduct load calculations, airflow analysis, and system selections for heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
- Prepare detailed HVAC design drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using CAD software .
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with design intent and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to HVAC system performance and maintenance.
- Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in HVAC or Building Services.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software and CAD tools .
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and fluid dynamics principles.
- Familiarity with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication abilities.
