Hygiene and Cleaning Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and conscientious Hygiene and Cleaning Officer to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation within their facilities in Reading . This role is critical in maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant environment. You will be responsible for monitoring cleaning activities, implementing hygiene protocols, conducting inspections, and managing cleaning resources effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hygiene best practices and a dedication to upholding operational standards in Reading .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective hygiene and cleaning policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
• Monitor the use and stock of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient management.
• Ensure that all cleaning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to cleaning staff on hygiene best practices and protocols.
• Investigate and report on any hygiene-related issues or incidents, recommending corrective actions.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role focusing on hygiene, sanitation, or cleaning management.
• Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
• Understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, including COSHH.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within the Reading area.
