About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operative to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within a food production facility in Liverpool . This role is critical for maintaining food safety compliance and ensuring a hygienic working environment for all staff. You will be responsible for cleaning production machinery, work areas, and facilities according to strict protocols. The ideal candidate will be conscientious, understand the importance of hygiene in food processing, and be able to follow detailed instructions precisely. This is an essential role within the food industry, contributing directly to product safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise production machinery, equipment, and utensils according to food safety standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness of production floors, walls, and associated areas.
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and procedures for different zones within the facility.
- Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly, adhering to COSHH guidelines.
- Monitor and report any hygiene issues, pest sightings, or potential contamination risks to the supervisor.
- Assist with waste management and recycling processes within the production area.
Requirements
- Experience working in a hygiene or cleaning role, preferably within the food industry.
- Understanding of food safety principles and HACCP guidelines.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
- Ability to follow strict procedures and work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks, which may involve working in cold or damp conditions.
