In-House Corporate Counsel

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned In-House Corporate Counsel to join their established legal department based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for supporting the company's ongoing growth and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal regulations. You will be responsible for a broad range of legal activities, from drafting contracts to advising on corporate strategy and risk management. The successful candidate will be a proactive legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced corporate environment and is eager to contribute to the success of a leading organisation in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise senior management on corporate law, governance, and compliance issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including commercial agreements, partnership agreements, and licensing deals.
• Manage legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
• Manage external legal counsel and litigation where necessary.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in the UK with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a corporate or commercial law setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate governance, contract negotiation, and transactional work.
• In-depth knowledge of UK company law and regulatory requirements pertinent to Newcastle upon Tyne .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
