In-house Counsel - Real Estate

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced In-house Counsel with a specialization in Real Estate Law to join their expanding legal team in Leeds . This role is crucial for advising on a broad spectrum of property-related legal matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development projects. You will work closely with the property and finance departments, providing strategic legal guidance and ensuring robust contract management. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and advise on all legal aspects of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and financing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, licenses, and other property-related agreements.
• Provide legal support for property development projects, including planning law considerations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant property legislation, regulations, and case law across the UK .
• Liaise with external legal advisors, surveyors, and other property professionals.
• Resolve landlord and tenant disputes and manage property litigation matters efficiently.

Requirements

• A qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales with a minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience in real estate law .
• Demonstrable expertise in commercial property transactions, landlord and tenant matters, and property development.
• Strong understanding of planning law and environmental regulations relevant to property.
• Experience in managing complex property portfolios and associated legal risks.
• Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative in-house team.
