In-house Counsel

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Coventry , is seeking a dedicated and commercially astute In-house Counsel to support its expanding operations. This role is integral to providing proactive legal advice across various business functions, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, employment law, and intellectual property. You will be the primary legal contact for the business, working closely with senior management to mitigate risk and facilitate strategic decision-making, contributing directly to the company's growth and operational efficiency within the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, distribution agreements, and terms of business.
• Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Manage and resolve disputes, liaising with external counsel when necessary.
• Assist with intellectual property protection and enforcement strategies.
• Stay abreast of relevant legislation and regulatory changes affecting the business.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with in-house exposure.
• Strong understanding of commercial law, contract drafting, and corporate governance.
• Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
