About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting for a dedicated In-House Counsel to join their dynamic legal team based in Birmingham . This position offers a broad range of responsibilities, supporting the company's operations through expert legal guidance and risk management. You will play a crucial role in advising on commercial contracts, compliance, and dispute resolution, contributing directly to the company's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and a proactive approach to legal challenges, ensuring the company operates within the bounds of the law.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal support on commercial agreements, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms.
- Advise on a variety of legal matters including employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes, working with external counsel where necessary.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal and ethical compliance.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on various business-related issues.
Requirements
- Admitted to practise as a Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales.
- A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience, preferably with in-house experience or in a commercial law firm.
- Proficiency in contract law, company law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
