In-House Legal Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented In-House Legal Advisor to join their busy legal team based in Coventry . This role is integral to supporting the company's commercial operations by providing timely and pragmatic legal advice. You will be involved in a wide array of legal tasks, from advising on contracts to ensuring regulatory adherence. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Advise on and draft a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, and distribution contracts.
• Support the business development teams by reviewing and advising on legal aspects of new projects and ventures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including data protection and consumer rights.
• Assist in managing disputes, including pre-litigation advice and working with external counsel if necessary.
• Develop and deliver training sessions to non-legal staff on key legal and compliance topics.

Requirements

• A qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience in commercial contract law, gained either in private practice or in-house.
• Proficiency in data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR) is essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal solutions.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
