In-House Legal Advisor

About the Role

Our client, a leading organisation in the Oxford area, is seeking a highly competent In-House Legal Advisor . This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds, with a balance of remote working flexibility and essential in-office collaboration. You will provide comprehensive legal support across a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, working closely with various business units. The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic and commercially minded legal professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage diverse legal challenges effectively. This is a key role within the organisation, contributing directly to strategic decision-making and operational compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service agreements, and partnership deals.
• Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management issues.
• Support with the legal aspects of projects, tenders, and business development initiatives.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise advice to internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the management of litigation and dispute resolution processes.
• Develop and maintain internal legal policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in commercial law, contract law, and corporate governance.
• Experience working in an in-house legal team or a corporate law department of a firm is advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, business-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
