About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive In-House Legal Advisor to join their thriving business based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for supporting the company's commercial operations and ensuring adherence to legal standards across all facets of the business. You will be instrumental in managing day-to-day legal affairs, advising stakeholders on contractual obligations, risk management, and compliance. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a forward-thinking organization, contributing expertise to a wide range of legal challenges and opportunities, fostering a culture of legal diligence and integrity throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and practical legal advice to internal departments on various commercial matters.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, licenses, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
- Assist in managing the company's litigation portfolio, working closely with external counsel.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection and consumer rights.
- Support corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to enhance legal compliance and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- A qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in commercial contract law and dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with UK legal and regulatory frameworks affecting businesses.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
