In-house Legal Counsel (Commercial Contracts)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and commercially minded In-house Legal Counsel to join their forward-thinking legal team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute effectively from any location within the UK. You will focus primarily on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the company's interests and facilitating business operations. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including service agreements, NDAs, and supplier contracts.
• Provide clear and concise legal advice on contractual risks and obligations to business stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Manage contract lifecycle, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and terminations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into legally sound agreements.
• Stay abreast of relevant legal developments impacting commercial contracting.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 3 years' experience in commercial contract law .
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of contract principles and risk management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts simply.
• Proficiency with contract management software and e-signature platforms is advantageous.
