About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated In-House Legal Counsel to strengthen their legal department based in Birmingham . This role is crucial for managing the company's day-to-day legal operations and providing strategic legal guidance to support business growth. You will be instrumental in handling a diverse caseload, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements, and protecting the company's assets and reputation. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong commercial acumen and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels, contributing to a robust and efficient legal framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the legal aspects of commercial transactions and corporate restructuring.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK legislation and industry-specific regulations.
• Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes effectively and cost-efficiently.
• Advise on employment law, intellectual property, and contractual matters.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk.

Requirements

• Law degree and admission to the roll of solicitors or the Faculty of Advocates.
• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant legal field, preferably within an in-house or private practice setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract law and corporate governance.
• Ability to provide practical and commercially sound legal advice.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
