In-House Legal Counsel

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team based in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is crucial for supporting the company's operational and strategic objectives by providing comprehensive legal support across various business functions. You will be instrumental in mitigating legal risks, ensuring compliance, and contributing to key business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including contracts, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including supplier agreements, service level agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, implementing and overseeing internal policies and procedures.
• Manage external legal counsel and litigation, where necessary, to achieve favourable outcomes.
• Advise on intellectual property matters, data protection, and employment law issues.
• Conduct legal training for staff on relevant legal topics and risk management.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with substantial post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in advising on commercial contracts, corporate law, and regulatory compliance, preferably within an in-house setting.
• Strong understanding of data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and intellectual property rights.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver pragmatic legal solutions.
• Familiarity with employment law and dispute resolution processes is a plus.
