About the Role

Our client is seeking a robust and experienced Industrial Cleaning Team Leader to manage a team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in demanding industrial environments in Edinburgh, Scotland . This role is essential for ensuring that operational sites are kept to the highest standards of hygiene, free from hazards, and compliant with stringent industry regulations. You will be responsible for leading your team, coordinating tasks, ensuring the correct use of specialized equipment, and upholding our client's commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial cleaning, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing a team in a challenging, fast-paced setting within Edinburgh and its surrounding industrial zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of industrial cleaning operatives.
• Plan and execute cleaning schedules for industrial sites, including machinery, floors, and structural elements.
• Ensure all team members adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
• Operate and oversee the maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, steam cleaners, and large-scale vacuums.
• Conduct site assessments and risk evaluations for cleaning operations.
• Liaise with site managers and other stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Requirements

• Significant experience in industrial cleaning, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques, chemicals, and heavy-duty equipment.
• Proven ability to manage a team effectively in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to industrial settings (e.g., COSHH, risk assessments).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends, as dictated by industrial operations.
