Industrial Electrician - Installation & Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Electrician to join their engineering team in Nottingham . This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and machinery within an industrial setting. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and responding to electrical faults to minimize downtime. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, and power distribution systems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance checks and services on electrical machinery.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently and safely.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with current BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant safety standards.
• Participate in safety inspections and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3).
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including control circuits, VFDs, and PLC interfaces.
• Current ECS/JIB card and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
