About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Industrial Engineer to join their operations team in Birmingham . This role offers a hybrid work model, combining the benefits of remote work with essential on-site collaboration. You will be instrumental in analyzing and optimizing production processes, supply chains, and facility layouts to maximize efficiency and throughput. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, practical engineering knowledge, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative on-site and remote team. Your contributions will directly impact the operational performance and competitiveness of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analyses of current production lines, workflows, and facility layouts to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Develop and propose data-driven solutions for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Design and implement new production systems, incorporating principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma .
- Create and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, training materials, and performance tracking systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing staff, management, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project implementation.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of new equipment and technologies to enhance operational capabilities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on progress towards operational goals.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in an industrial engineering or process improvement role.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma , and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with data analysis, process mapping, and simulation tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and supply chain logistics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
