About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Engineer specializing in Plant Layout to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role is vital for optimizing the physical arrangement of facilities, equipment, and processes to maximize efficiency, safety, and throughput. You will be responsible for creating and revising plant layouts, ensuring efficient material flow, and supporting capital investment decisions through accurate planning and analysis. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to directly influence the operational efficiency and physical infrastructure of a key manufacturing site in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and update comprehensive plant layouts and facility plans using CAD software.
• Analyze material flow, workflow, and space utilization to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, safety, and engineering teams to ensure layouts meet all functional and regulatory requirements.
• Develop simulation models to test the effectiveness of proposed layout changes.
• Support capital expenditure requests by providing layout design and justification.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all layout designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, with a specific focus on facility and plant layout design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for layout design.
• Understanding of material handling systems and production flow principles.
• Strong analytical and spatial reasoning skills.
