About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to focus on Plant Operations within their facilities in Sheffield . This role is central to ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of our manufacturing processes. You will be involved in optimizing workflows, managing material flow, improving resource utilization, and implementing solutions to enhance overall plant productivity. This position offers a hands-on opportunity for an engineer looking to make a direct impact on operational performance within a key industrial hub like Sheffield .
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize plant production schedules, workflows, and material handling systems.
- Implement and manage Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain capacity planning models and resource allocation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards within the plant environment.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and resolve operational issues.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new equipment or process installations, assessing their impact on plant operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial engineering or plant operations role.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kanban, and value stream mapping.
- Experience with production planning, capacity analysis , and operational metrics.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in an industrial setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good communication abilities.
