Industrial Engineer - Process Improvement

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Industrial Engineer specializing in Process Improvement to join their innovative team in Leeds, West Yorkshire . This role is integral to identifying and implementing enhancements that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall quality of our client's operations. You will work closely with manufacturing and operational teams, applying lean principles and analytical tools to streamline workflows and solve complex problems. The hybrid nature of this role allows for a blend of on-site collaboration and focused work, fostering a productive and adaptable working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current operational processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing tools and techniques, such as value stream mapping, 5S, and Kaizen events.
• Design and document new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows to enhance productivity and safety.
• Collaborate with production staff and management to execute process improvement projects and ensure successful adoption.
• Collect, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workforce utilization and workflow balance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role with a focus on process improvement.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies and tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis, problem-solving, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with CAD software for layout design is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of staff.
