About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer to join their operations team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing and operational processes. You will work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to analyze existing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining the benefits of on-site collaboration with the flexibility of remote work, allowing for a balanced approach to operational excellence and personal work-life integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop and implement new process designs and production systems, considering cost, quality, and safety.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis to monitor performance and identify trends.
- Collaborate with operations and management to set production goals and ensure targets are met.
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including flowcharts and work instructions.
- Support the implementation of new equipment and technologies on the production floor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role, preferably within manufacturing.
- Proficiency in process mapping tools and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting, using tools like Excel or specialized statistical software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Familiarity with hybrid work environments and effective communication across distributed teams.
