Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Industrial Engineer to join their key operations facility in Portsmouth . This role is central to optimizing the efficiency and productivity of their manufacturing processes. You will work hands-on with production teams to analyze workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that reduce waste and enhance output. The successful candidate will be results-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be committed to driving continuous improvement within a vital industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
• Develop and implement layout designs for improved material flow and workspace utilization.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Utilize statistical methods to monitor process performance and implement quality improvements.
• Collaborate with production staff to implement lean manufacturing techniques and best practices.
• Support the integration of new equipment and technologies into the production environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in an industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering role.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively on the shop floor.
