About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Industrial Engineering Manager to lead their team in Nottingham . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all industrial engineering activities, including process optimization, facility design, and the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles across operations. You will set the direction for the engineering team, mentor its members, and ensure that engineering strategies align with the company's overall business objectives. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a deep understanding of industrial engineering best practices and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of industrial engineers, setting clear goals and performance expectations.
- Develop and execute the overall industrial engineering strategy to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Oversee the design and implementation of new production lines, facility layouts, and material handling systems.
- Champion the adoption and continuous improvement of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies across the organization.
- Collaborate with senior management to align engineering initiatives with business goals and capital investment plans.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Extensive experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification preferred), and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive significant organizational change.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, and financial principles.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
