About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Maintenance Engineer to join their vital operations team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of industrial machinery and plant equipment. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and the installation of new equipment to uphold operational continuity and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all industrial machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on a variety of plant machinery.
- Install new equipment and systems, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergencies, implementing effective repair solutions swiftly and safely.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
- Adhere to strict health and safety regulations and company policies throughout all maintenance operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Engineer or in a similar hands-on engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, and fitting is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Possession of relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) is an advantage.
- Must be able to work effectively in a busy industrial setting in Newcastle upon Tyne .
