Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their vital Installation & Maintenance team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of industrial machinery and production lines. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment, playing a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency within the facility. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your technical expertise to a dynamic manufacturing environment in the Tyne and Wear area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system failures promptly.
• Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and integration.
• Respond to urgent repair calls to resolve operational issues and minimize production disruption.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities using digital logs.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for equipment improvement and efficiency gains.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
• Must be physically fit and capable of working in a demanding industrial environment.
