Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive and skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to manage the upkeep of machinery and facilities in their Newcastle upon Tyne based operations. You will be responsible for ensuring all industrial equipment functions safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns. This role is integral to maintaining production continuity and operational safety standards within a busy industrial environment. You will tackle a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, requiring a broad skillset and a commitment to quality workmanship, contributing directly to the smooth running of a key industrial site in the North East of England.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery, including motors, pumps, conveyor systems, and control panels.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures on production equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment status.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize production disruption.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or in a similar hands-on maintenance role.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC basics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and a proactive approach to risk management.
• Must be able to work effectively within the Newcastle upon Tyne operational area.
