Main purpose of job
Responsible to the relevant Waste Collection Manager through the Route Balancing and Optimisation Officer, for the provision of accurate data entry, systems management and analytical support to optimise daily Service operations across all waste streams domestic and commercial.
Responsible for maintaining, updating and inputting data into the services operational route and customer relationship systems, analysing key performance metrics and producing detailed operational and management reports, both structured and ad hoc.
Additionally, the postholder will manage service specific information requests including freedom of information requests, stage complaints and management information, preparing and analysing data as appropriate and providing responses to queries.
Summary of responsibilities and personal duties
Input, maintain and update accurate operational data within relevant systems to ensure reliability of information and support route planning and design.
Undertake comprehensive data analysis across waste collection operations to identify trends, gaps and opportunities to improve service delivery and efficiency.
Collate and interpret complex statistical data to produce regular management and ad hoc reports, performance dashboards and analytical summaries for senior management.
Assist with the onboarding of new operational systems to support Resources and Fleet and Street Cleansing operations including GIS mapping to support front line crews and decision making.
Investigate, extract and analyse historical operational data using both in built and third-party tools to build comprehensive evidence and information to support corporate complaints.
Co-ordinate the extraction, preparation and presentation of operational information to ensure compliance and timely fulfilment of FOI requests.
Monitor and audit data quality within operational systems, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective action in liaison with relevant operational managers where necessary to ensure data integrity.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to streamline data flows between operations, systems, platforms and CRM channels.
Assist in the benchmarking of service performance data against industry standards to support the development of data driven best practices.
Support the Waste Collection Manager and their direct reports with data driven evidence for resource allocation and service delivery plans.
Maintain compliance with corporate data protection and information governance policies, ensuring all sensitive operational customer data is managed securely.
Provide basic system support, training and user guidance to operational staff regarding operational software data entry requirements.
Essential criteria
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must, as at the closing date:
be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, at least one year's relevant experience in each of the following three areas:
experience in high volume data input, system updates and management of operational databases or relevant specialised operational software packages,
manipulating and analysing complex data to generate metrics and reports to inform decision making,
experience in retrieving, investigating and summarising data under tight timelines to assist with complaints, FOIs, and management information requests.
