Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and analytical Information Security Analyst to join their team in Reading . This role is crucial for monitoring security systems, identifying potential threats, and supporting the overall security strategy of the organization. In this hybrid position, you'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively in the office and remotely, contributing to a secure and resilient IT environment. You will be instrumental in detecting and responding to security incidents, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and systems from evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, etc.).
• Investigate and analyze security incidents, providing initial triage and containment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and report on findings.
• Support the IT team in maintaining security infrastructure and controls.
• Contribute to security awareness training programs for employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an information security or IT support role with a security focus.
• Understanding of fundamental security principles, network security, and common threats.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and security logging analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
