Information Security Analyst

Our client is seeking a sharp and analytical Information Security Analyst to join their security team in Portsmouth . You will be at the forefront of protecting the organization's digital assets by monitoring for threats, responding to incidents, and contributing to the development of security policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software, for threats.
• Analyze security alerts and logs to identify potential security breaches and policy violations.
• Assist in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments to identify and prioritize security weaknesses.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of security documentation and awareness materials.

Requirements

• Experience in an information security role or a related IT field.
• Knowledge of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Understanding of network security principles and operating systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
