Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Information Security Architect to design and oversee the implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient systems in Glasgow . You will be responsible for defining the security architecture that protects the organisation's information assets and ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a deep technical understanding of cybersecurity principles and a strategic vision for building security into the very fabric of the IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure security is a foundational element of all technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-level information security architecture and strategies.
• Define security requirements and standards for new systems, applications, and infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions to address emerging threats and business needs.
• Create security blueprints, standards, and guidelines for implementation by IT teams.
• Conduct security reviews of proposed system designs and provide expert recommendations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security architecture aligns with business objectives and risk tolerance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Information Security Architect or in a similar senior technical security role.
• In-depth knowledge of network security, application security, cloud security, and data security.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
• Experience in designing security solutions for complex, distributed environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, TOGAF, or equivalent are highly valued in Glasgow .
