About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to bolster their security posture in Birmingham . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security controls that protect our client's critical infrastructure and data. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Design and deploy secure network architectures and cloud environments.
• Conduct security configuration reviews and ensure systems comply with security policies.
• Develop and maintain security scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Respond to and manage security alerts, providing technical analysis and remediation recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an Information Security Engineer or similar technical security role.
• Proficiency in network security protocols and technologies.
• Experience with cloud security principles and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management and threat intelligence.
