Information Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activity, conducting in-depth investigations.
• Develop and automate security processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with IT operations to ensure secure configurations and timely patching of systems.
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of new security tools and technologies.
• Respond to and remediate security incidents, documenting findings and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in information security engineering or operations.
• Proficiency with network security concepts and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of security best practices and relevant regulatory requirements in Birmingham .
