Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their growing team, supporting their operations with a fully remote work setup. This role is focused on the practical implementation, configuration, and maintenance of security technologies designed to protect the organisation's digital infrastructure. You will work closely with IT operations and development teams to integrate security controls seamlessly, troubleshoot security-related issues, and contribute to the overall security resilience of the company. Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage various security tools and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Monitor security systems for performance issues and security threats, responding to alerts and escalating as necessary.
• Assist in the design and deployment of new security infrastructure and solutions.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including configuration guides and operational procedures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scanning and assist in the remediation of identified weaknesses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into system design and operational processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an information security engineering or technical support role.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Familiarity with networking protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of security best practices and risk management principles.
