Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically proficient Information Security Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of security systems and infrastructure to protect the organization's assets. You will be responsible for deploying and managing various security technologies, responding to security incidents, and ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of our security controls. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and a deep understanding of network and system security principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and manage remediation efforts.
• Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans.
• Monitor security systems for performance and potential security breaches.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Information Security Engineer or similar technical security role.
• Strong technical skills in network security, system administration, and cloud security.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation of security tasks.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex security issues effectively.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA Security, GIAC certifications, or CISSP are a plus.
